The Samsung Galaxy Note 5, unlike the other phablets in the Note series, has the glass and metal construction of the Galaxy S6 in a larger 5.7" display. The phone comes with a signature S Pen stylus, and it features a 16-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel rear camera with selfie shooter, and HD video display. The Galaxy Note 5, powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop and an octa-core processor, has a 3000 mAh battery and 4 GB of RAM. The phablet comes in 32 GB or 64 GB in black, white, gold, or silver.
I purchased the Note 5 as a replacement for my Note 2, which I loved. The Note 2 had a design problem with the ear speaker, which failed after the first week. My Note 5 has been plagued with dropped calls, low antenna signals, rapid battery depletion and poor Bluetooth connectivity. I brought the phone from an Verizon store. The sales representatives did not document any of my complaints during the initial 14 day time frame. Only after 14 days had elapsed did they advise me that the phone was bad and I should contact a Verizon Technician. I am on my second Note 5 and it is performing a tad bit better than the first but not near what my expectations are for a $720.00 price tag. I have the insurance coverage on the phone but Verizon has cleverly written their contracts to prevent the purchaser from selling or replacing the poorly performing cell phone without paying the full purchase price, which is pro-rated into the Verizon contract. I was told that I can pay for the phone in full, return it for a credit of $400.00, and that $400.00 would be credited to my Verizon account. Yes, you are hearing me correctly. That's an $1120.00 dollar loss. I will be using my Note 2 with the broken ear speaker until I find a suitable replacement. So think long and hard before allowing yourself to be convinced by an ad that this is a great deal. It has not, and will not be a happy ending for me. I am considering changing carriers over the misrepresentation the phones issues and poor customer service concerning this issue.
